DELTA

SKY

CLUB

This proposed Delta Sky Club lounge design was produced for my 2019 summer internship at the Delta Air Lines Atlanta headquarters. The goal of this Delta Sky Club was to seat around 400 people in this 15,000 square foot space, and include a commercial kitchen, buffet, and bar. This posed an immense spacial challenge due to the fact that Delta Sky Club wanted to increase the “seating utilization factor” without compromising style and accessibility. The term “seat utilization factor” describes the need for seating at its maximum capacity. For example, when a single person sits at a table for four, they are essentially occupying four seats because no other guests will choose to sit at this table while it is occupied by one. The floor plan went through many drafts and critiques to find the right balance and variation of seating while incorporating the required elements. The resulting design displays seating options that maximize space and privacy without compromising aesthetics.
